What’s the difference between colored sketch and fully rendered?

As you can see from these examples, colored sketches are less detailed in shading + lighting, and the lineart is also messier. This is because I spend less time painting and cleaning the lines. Fully rendered pieces have better lighting + shading with 100% clean lines. I also give rendered pieces more dramatic lighting.
